Work in progress!
working in the TWIMMS studio
It's always very difficult to start painting on the jackets. This is the moment of truth. Nothing can go wrong, otherwise
I'll have to throw away a good jeansjacket..... And every time I start with a new portait, I have to keep going, don't stop. Otherwise the paint will be to dry and the colors won't blend nicely. And still I do not know exactly what i'm doing,
when I paint a portrait!!! I hold my breath and there I go, till I finally see and recognize this unknow person on the jacket. Than, after two hours, I can exhale...
There are so many beautiful poems in the world..., luckily I had some criteria, which narrowed down my choice. These were mainly practical standards. Not to many lines, interesting first sentences, different languages and particularly about memories. The sentences are like teasers on the jackets. You can't read everything. I hope it will make people wonder.
I want to put a QR-code on the waistband of every jacket. This code will send you directly to the site, where you will find the whole poem.
Wauw, "the world is my museum" is taking shape.
Maybe everything we do in life, is to pass the time, so we don't notice all the time, that our time is passing.
Charles Beaudelaire wrote a delightful true poem about a, maybe, non-confronting way of living in which wine, poetry or any other passion will help us to make the passing of (our) time bearable. Charles Beaudelaire wrote this poem in 1857 in the poetry bundle: "les fleurs du mal." In a strange way the workaholic, and the alcoholic seem to be the same kind of refugees.
Almost every cover of this bundle has an illustration of fair flowers, but things are never what they seem..., a good reason to stay attentive and curious.
My models are Beautiful Bollywood actresses. With mysterious glances. The first one is ready. I choose the birch to be the lace part of the design. And in her hair there's a flirting sparrow. If this little bird appears to you, it means you don't need big things to be happy. You'll find your happines in the little things, you already have.... Now ain't that a relieve :)
I don't know who designed these, but it's definitely one of my sources of inspiration. The brush strokes, the color combinations, the differences in material and...., the secret meanings.
Let me tell you about the Viola Tricolor, in the upper right corner. Het specific colors, purple, yellow and white, are meant to symbolize memories, lovely thoughts and souvenirs. And..., always useful to know, het juices were used in Shakespears' Midsummernight dream as a love potion. She is sure going to be one of the herbs, i'll use in my designs for my first jeansjacketcollection!
